Shipping Overview

Solomons Bullion delivers investment-grade precious metals across Australia using specialist secure couriers with full insurance coverage. Every delivery is fully insured for its complete market value in transit — from the moment it leaves our premises until it is signed for at the delivery address.

We do not use standard postal services (Australia Post, StarTrack) for bullion deliveries. All shipments are handled by specialist precious metals courier services operating under specific commercial insurance arrangements for high-value cargo.

Delivery is available to all Australian metropolitan and major regional addresses. Remote and rural deliveries may require additional arrangements — contact us prior to ordering if you are unsure about delivery to your location.

Important Payment must be confirmed before any order is dispatched. For EFT payments, this means funds must have cleared to our account. For EFTPOS payments, confirmation is immediate. Orders are not dispatched on the same day as payment in most circumstances — dispatch occurs the following business day once payment is confirmed.

Delivery Options

Delivery Options

We offer three ways to receive your bullion after purchase. At checkout or the time of your transaction, you will be asked to nominate your preference.

Option A — Insured Home Delivery

Your bullion is delivered by specialist secure courier to your nominated Australian address. Fully insured at replacement value in transit. Signature required on delivery. Discreet packaging with no indication of contents. Tracking provided via SMS and email.

A delivery fee applies based on order value and destination. Fees are disclosed at the time of purchase.

Option B — In-Person Collection

Collect your purchase in person from our Sydney or Melbourne office at no additional charge. Walk-in collection is available during business hours. For large orders, we recommend calling ahead to ensure your items are prepared and ready for collection.

No delivery fee applies. Bring your photo ID and your payment confirmation.

Option C — Place Directly Into Vault Storage

Your bullion goes directly from purchase into our allocated vault storage — no delivery, no transport, no risk. Your first 3 months of storage are free with every purchase. This is the most secure and most cost-efficient way to hold physical bullion. You can sell from storage at any time without collection. See our Storage page for full details.

Our Recommendation For most investors, placing bullion directly into vault storage on purchase is the safest and most cost-effective approach — particularly for larger holdings. You avoid delivery risk, storage logistics at home, and home insurance complications. Three months of storage is free with every purchase.
How It Works

The Dispatch Process

Our dispatch process is designed to ensure every delivery is fully secure and accounted for before it leaves our premises.

1
Payment Confirmed

Your payment clears to our account. EFT payments typically clear overnight. For EFTPOS payments, clearance is immediate. No order is picked until payment is fully confirmed — not initiated, confirmed.

2
Order Picked & Verified

Your specific items are retrieved from inventory and verified against your order — product, weight, serial number. This is double-checked by a second team member before packaging begins.

3
Secure Packaging

Items are packed in tamper-evident security packaging. The outer carton bears no markings indicating the contents are precious metals. All packaging is designed to prevent movement and damage in transit.

4
Insurance Cover Activated

Transit insurance cover is activated for the full replacement value of your order. Your package enters our courier's custody under this insurance arrangement before it leaves our premises.

5
Tracking Notification Sent

You receive an SMS and/or email notification with your tracking reference number. You can monitor your delivery in real time through the courier's tracking portal.

6
Delivery & Signature

The courier delivers to your nominated address and requires a signature from the recipient. If no one is available to sign, the courier will leave a card and reattempt delivery. Packages are not left unattended. After three failed delivery attempts, the package returns to our office and you will be contacted to arrange re-delivery or collection.

Security & Discretion

Packaging & Security

Security packaging is fundamental to the safe delivery of precious metals. Our packaging protocols are designed to protect the contents and ensure complete discretion.

What our packaging includes

Plain outer carton — no logos, no description of contents
Tamper-evident sealing — visible if opened in transit
Internal foam or bubble padding to prevent movement
Products remain in original mint packaging or assay cards where applicable
Return address is a generic corporate address — no "bullion" reference
Courier manifest does not describe contents as precious metals

What our packaging does NOT include

Solomons Bullion branding on outer packaging
Any description of contents on the outer carton
Weight indicated on external labelling beyond courier requirements
Declared value shown on outer packaging
Security Note Never indicate to a courier, neighbour, or building manager that your package contains gold or precious metals. Discretion is a joint responsibility. If you have a specific delivery address concern (e.g. a shared mailroom in an apartment building), contact us before placing your order to discuss options including collection from our office.
In-Transit Coverage

Transit Insurance

Every delivery arranged by Solomons Bullion is covered by full replacement-value transit insurance from the moment the package leaves our premises until it is signed for at the delivery address.

Full replacement-value insurance — no excess, no cap — covers theft, loss, and damage in transit for every order we dispatch.
Coverage detailPolicy
Coverage amount100% of order value at time of dispatch

Coverage capNone — full value covered regardless of order size
Coverage periodFrom dispatch until signed delivery
Covered eventsTheft, robbery, loss, transit damage

Resolution timeframeWe aim to resolve all claims within 10 business days
Note Transit insurance covers your order while it is in the care of our designated courier. It does not extend to events after delivery is signed for. For ongoing insurance of your metals at home, contact your home contents insurer — noting that high-value items like gold typically require specific endorsement. Alternatively, consider our allocated vault storage (insured at full replacement value under Lloyd's of London).

What happens if your package doesn't arrive? If tracking shows a package as delivered but you did not sign for or receive it, contact us immediately. We will launch a courier investigation and activate our insurance claim process on your behalf. Do not contact the courier directly — all claims must be initiated through us as the shipper of record.

Collect In Person

In-Person Collection

Many clients prefer to collect their bullion in person — it's free, immediate (on payment clearance), and the safest form of transfer. Walk-ins are always welcome during business hours.

Collecting Your Order Bring your photo ID and your order confirmation. For large orders, call ahead so we can have your items prepared. Items are released only to the purchaser of record — not to a third party unless pre-authorised in writing.
For Storage Clients

Delivery from Vault Storage

Storage clients may request delivery of their allocated holdings at any time. This is subject to the same insured courier process as standard purchases.

To request delivery of stored metals:

1
Submit a Delivery Request

Contact us by phone or email, specifying which items you wish to have delivered and confirming your delivery address. We will confirm the delivery fee before proceeding.

2
Delivery Fee Agreed

A delivery fee applies based on the value and weight of the delivery. You will be provided with a quote before we proceed. Payment is required before dispatch.

3
Items Prepared & Dispatched

Your allocated items are retrieved from the vault, verified by serial number, packaged, insured, and dispatched. You receive tracking information once the package is in transit.

Alternative to Delivery If you wish to sell your stored holdings rather than take delivery, we can buy them back at the live spot price (100% for gold) with same-day EFT payment — with no delivery fee, no transport cost, and no delay. This is the most efficient way to liquidate stored bullion.
Returns Policy

Returns & Cancellations

Due to the nature of precious metals as commodity assets — where prices fluctuate continuously and products are allocated at the moment of purchase — our returns policy differs from standard retail. Please read this section carefully before placing an order.

Price fluctuation: Precious metal prices change every second during trading hours. Once you have accepted a quoted price and payment has been confirmed, the transaction is complete at that price. We cannot accept returns based on a subsequent movement in the spot price — whether up or down.

Eligible returns

Products delivered that differ from what was ordered (wrong product, wrong weight)
Products with manufacturing defects not caused by transit damage
Items that fail XRF purity verification (confirmed substandard purity)
Orders cancelled before payment has been processed and products allocated

Not eligible for return

Returns based on price movement after confirmed purchase
Items removed from original sealed assay card or mint packaging
Products in acceptable condition where the buyer has changed their mind
Scrap gold or jewellery once testing and transaction are complete
Products sold "as-is" or described with known condition at time of sale
Order Cancellations Once an order is confirmed and products are allocated, cancellation is not possible as a price has been locked and the metal committed. If you need to liquidate a recent purchase, we will buy it back at the current live buyback price — which may be the same as, higher than, or lower than your purchase price depending on market movement. Contact us immediately if you have concerns about an order.

How to initiate a return: If you believe your delivery qualifies for a return under the eligible criteria above, contact us within 5 business days of receiving the delivery. Do not return items without first contacting us and receiving written return authorisation. Unauthorised returns cannot be accepted.

1
Contact Us Within 5 Business Days

Email returns@solomonsbullion.com.au or call 1300 000 000. Describe the issue and include your order number, photos of the item and packaging, and a description of the discrepancy.

2
We Assess & Authorise

Our team will review your claim within 2 business days and advise whether your return qualifies. If authorised, we will provide a Return Authorisation (RA) number and return shipping instructions.

3
Return Shipping

For authorised returns, we arrange and cover the cost of return shipping using our insured courier service. Do not use your own courier — returning uninsured precious metals through an unsuitable service is your risk, not ours.

4
Assessment & Resolution

Once received, items are assessed and verified. For eligible returns, we will either replace the item or refund the full purchase price (including any delivery fee paid) within 5 business days.

Claims

Damaged or Missing Deliveries

In the rare event that your delivery arrives damaged, or tracking indicates delivery but you did not receive the package, contact us immediately. Our transit insurance covers these situations and we will manage the claim process on your behalf.

Damaged Package — What to Do Before signing for a damaged package: Note the damage on the delivery receipt. Photograph the outer packaging before opening. If the outer carton shows signs of tampering (broken seal, torn carton, resealing tape), photograph this clearly and note it on the delivery receipt before accepting or opening. Contact us immediately on 1300 000 000.

All damage and loss claims are managed by Solomons Bullion under our carrier's insurance arrangement. Claims are typically resolved within 10 business days. You will not be out of pocket for any loss or damage that occurs during transit under our authorised delivery service.

Timeframe for Reporting Damage and loss must be reported to us within 48 hours of the tracking-confirmed delivery time. Claims reported after this window may not be eligible for insurance coverage. If you will be away from your delivery address, consider using in-person collection or nominating an alternate delivery address where someone will be available to sign.
Common Questions

Shipping FAQs

Can I have my order delivered to a PO Box?
No. Due to the nature of the contents and signature requirements, we cannot deliver to PO Boxes. A physical address where a recipient will be available to sign is required. If delivery to a business address is more practical, this is perfectly acceptable.
Can the package be left in a safe place if I'm not home?
No. A signature is required on all precious metals deliveries and packages cannot be left unattended. If you're not available, the courier will leave a card and reattempt. After three unsuccessful attempts, the package returns to our office. In-person collection or a business address delivery is recommended if you're frequently away.
Do you deliver internationally?
No. We deliver within Australia only. International buyers may arrange their own insured courier pickup from our office after collection in person, though we do not facilitate or insure international shipping. All purchases must be made by verified Australian residents or legal entities.
How will I know my delivery is on its way?
You will receive an SMS and/or email notification with a tracking reference number once your order is dispatched. You can monitor your delivery in real time. You may also call us on 1300 000 000 at any time for a delivery status update.
What is the delivery fee?
Delivery fees are based on the order value and destination. Fees are disclosed at the time of purchase before you commit to delivery. In-person collection is always free. Placing your bullion directly into vault storage incurs only the standard storage fee (free for the first 3 months).
Can someone else collect my order on my behalf?
Third-party collection requires prior written authorisation from the purchaser of record. The authorised third party must present their own photo ID alongside a copy of your authorisation letter. Contact us in advance to arrange this — it cannot be arranged on the day of collection without prior notice.
